How to use a field from a Localized Text as a Dialogue Entry dialogue text ?

Post by adecoster »

Hello,

The documentation described well how to create a localized dialogue text directly in a Dialog Entry ... but not from a Localized Text table.

How to do that ? (so that all my localized dialogue texts would be centralized in a Localized Text table)

Thanks.

Hi,

The localization in dialogue databases (i.e., dialogue text) is separate from localized text tables. They're different things. Localized text tables are for non-dialogue purposes, such as localizing menu text.

Dialogue text should be localized in the Dialogue Editor (directly in a dialogue entry), or in tools such as Chat Mapper, articy:draft, or the Neverwinter Nights toolset. You can also export a dialogue database to CSV spreadsheet format and enter localized text in a spreadsheet application such as MS Excel or Google Sheets.
