Currently I'm using dialogue system version 2.2.41. I don't see the 2.2.42 version in unity, do you mean 2.2.41.1?

Oops, yes, 2.2.41. Must be post-turkey brain fog. 
There's nothing relevant to dialogue database editing in 2.2.41.1.

Well this is hopefully the last post I will have send about this 
. Finally after updating to unity 2023.2.2f1 from 2023.2.1f1 all the performance issues are gone even if I try very hard for them to appear. Sad unity is so much like a black box not sure what change they did for this to be solved 
Pd: (The changes on the UI are godsend for working with the dialogue system)

I'm glad updating Unity seems to have addressed the issue. Unity's xxx.x.1 versions are always a bit of a mess. Hopefully with their new release cadence they'll no longer be pushed into releasing buggy versions just to meet calendar deadlines.
