So I think I've got it to work now. I just changed the check for the message to be separate from the counter and for each node when they become true it makes the RunTimer node inactive to stop the timer counting up. I've tested it quite a bit and it seems to work so fingers crossed!

Nice! I think separating the nodes like that actually makes the logic more visually clear anyway.
