Changing input system in the Dialogue system

Hi there, wonder if you could give me a steer in the right direction regarding input. When selecting between multiple choices during a conversation, I'd like to use the mouse wheel to select a response, rather than moving the pointer and selecting with the left mouse button - where should I begin to look to change this?
