Using Rewired with the Dialogue System and triggering QTE's.

Post by Keiji »

Hi Tony!

I am using rewired and trying to trigger a qte from a dialogue node using a controller.
In the dialogue manager's input settings, I changed element 1 of the QTE input buttons array to QTE.
In the Rewired Editor, I added the QTE default action and assigned it in the joystick maps tab.
This doesn't seem to be working, however. Do you happen to know what I am missing?

The mouse version of this setup works nicely, which makes me think it's an input/rewired problem.

Thanks a lot,

Keiji

Hi Keiji,

Did you use these instructions to set up the Dialogue System to work with Rewired?
  • Import Plugins ► Pixel Crushers ► Common ► Third Party Support ► Rewired Support.
  • Add an Input Device Manager Rewired component to the Dialogue Manager. (This component should exist side-by-side with the Input Device Manager. It does not replace the Input Device Manager component.)
  • Inspect the Dialogue Manager's Input Settings → Cancel and Cancel Conversation triggers. Set the Button Name fields to the button name(s) you want to use in Rewired. Other Dialogue System components, such as UI Button Key Trigger will also use Rewired.
