articy: draft basic usage problems

Post by Arcanor »

I noticed that articy: draft is now offering a very affordable FLEX license on Steam for their full commercial product. So I've downloaded the 14-day trial, and am giving it a spin. I really love the interface. It feels far superior to Chat Mapper to me. However, I'm confused about how to get basic dialogue response menus to show up.

In my test project I've got a single Dialogue node. I've assigned references to my player, and then my narrator. Then I double-click the node to go inside, where I create a couple of dialogue fragments, both connected to the start of the node. I assign menu text to both. However, when I export/import and run it in Unity, only one of them is showing up, and there is no response menu.

Is there something special I have to do to get a response menu when creating content in articy? I looked pretty extensively at your articy tutorial video, but you didn't really go over the basic data entry stuff. Sorry if I've missed something obvious, but I've been hacking at this for hours now and it's still not doing a basic response!

Okay, not sure what the heck I just did, but now it seems to be working. I must have re-exported this test project 50 times, but this time it works. Only thing I can think of is that I fiddled the Speaker and Conversant back and forth. But when I set it back the way it was before, it still works. Seems like the problem is gone, but not sure why.

Please consider this thread about response menus resolved, but I'll create another thread for my other issue.
