Do these products play nice with each other?

Post by JohnRody »

Hi All!
I am quite new to this but a simple question:

I have started a new project in Unity. 3D. I have found that I like Adventure Game Creator and see how it works with Dialogue System. So, I also want to use the AI AddOn to Dialogue System, plus Love/Hate and finally your Quest Machine. All of them look fantastic and I have them all. Now as I begin, the question is, will all of the above work together - I assumed they would when I bought them because both Adventure Game Creator and PixelCrushers promise the ability to work together. Is this correct? Also I wonder about the order in which I add these packages to my project.

thanks in advance!

Hi,

Yes, they're all designed to work nicely together. Import the Dialogue System for Unity first. Normally it doesn't matter the order in which you import Pixel Crushers assets. But they share some common code to keep projects more streamlined, and the Dialogue System is running a little behind right now. (It's a rare occurrence that I think has only happened twice in 10 years.) So if you import the Dialogue System you'll get slightly older common code (by 1 month), and then if you import Love/Hate or Quest Machine you'll get the up to date common code. It doesn't matter the order in which you import Adventure Creator.

I recommend going through at least the quick start tutorials of each asset individually so you understand how they work, and then look at integrating them as needed.
