Question: Invector/Quest/Document Vendor Examples

Post by TattooRose »

Hi,

I am looking to use the components listed to implement a Vendor system in my project. In searching the forum I found some threads on an S_Inventory component. It is from an older version of the PixelCrushers components so it does not import correctly. I do not see any unity packages in the Plugins folder named S_Inventory.

I am wondering if this feature is no longer available. If not is there any examples or videos, or documents that would explain what needs to be done to implement this feature?

Thanks

Hi,

S-Inventory was a separate inventory asset made by another publisher. It was deprecated and is no longer available on the Asset Store. While it was available on the Asset Store, the Dialogue System had an integration package for it. Since it's no longer on the Asset Store, the Dialogue System does not include an integration package. If you happen to have S-Inventory, I can post a link for the Dialogue System's latest S-Inventory integration package. But if you don't have S-Inventory it won't be of any use.

Inventory Pro is another inventory system that has vendors. It's a bit complex to set up, and the publisher doesn't support it much because they're focused on their new inventory system, Rucksack, that unfortunately doesn't have vendors. If you use Inventory Pro, the Dialogue System includes an integration package.

Inventory Engine is a nice, easy to use inventory system that's supported by the publisher. The Dialogue System has an integration package. But it doesn't have vendors. You'd have to implement the vendor part yourself.

Hi,

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was hoping to use Invector's Item Management in conjuction with the Dialogue system.

Thanks,

There is a (currently free) RPG pack for Invector that has vendors and inventory management: EviLA's RPG Pack for Invector.

The Dialogue System doesn't have a specific integration package for it, but it doesn't conflict with the Dialogue System either.
