Export Items for translation.

Post by tconstant »

I'm probably missing something very obvious.

When I localization export I successfully export the quests in a series of .csv but no Items are included.

How do I export the items as well as the quests?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

To keep the localization CSV a manageable size, the Localization Export/Import function only exports conversations and quests. To keep the CSVs from getting crazy complicated, it doesn't export other fields.

Ways to localize items:
  • Directly in the Dialogue Editor. (Create the language fields and enter their translations.)
  • Export Database > CSV format. This will export the entire database in CSV. It's a beast to go through, but you can localize everything here. Make sure you've defined the language-specific fields in your database first (e.g., add them to the Template).
  • Use i2 Localization.
If these end up being too onerous, let me know. I can look into adding items to the Localization Export/Import function as a separate option that could be selected only for devs who need it.

Being able to import/export items as a separate option would be very helpful for me!

I'll add that to the backlog. If it doesn't make it into the next release (which is coming out very soon), I'll do my best to get it into the one after that and provide a patch in the meantime.
