Just a very quick suggestion for a future patch.
When you click on the search textbox in the dialogue editor and you have a node selected, if you then press Backspace or Delete, DS understands that as a delete node action instead of erasing a character in the textbox contents.
If you were cautious enough and activated this...:
...a confirmation popup appears and you can cancel the horrible thing you were going to do.
If you didn't... there's still hope if you had a backup.
It would be possible to switch those key to affect only the textbox when it has focus?
