Hi, I'm trying to set up which portrait is the listener portrait, but can't find where to assign it. May I have a hand ? Thanks !

Hi,

Each dialogue entry node has dropdowns for Actor (speaker) and Conversant (listener).

Let's say your conversation involves two actors: Player and NPC, and a dialogue entry's Actor is set to Player and Conversant is set to NPC. In this case, the conversation will use the PC Subtitle Panel. In this case, since the NPC is the listener, listenerportrait will be the NPC Subtitle Panel's Portrait Image.

Thank you, but it seems I can't figure it out... I have an actor component on my player, with "player" selected on the dropdown, has set up the animator to the portrait animator, and assigned PC image in the response menu (Standard UI menu Panel), but the listener is still not registered as the player, what am I missing ?

The value of listenerportrait will change depending on which actor is the listener of each dialogue entry node.

Please post the following screenshots:
  • Inspector view after opening your conversation in the Dialogue Editor and selecting Menu > Conversation Properties.
  • Inspector view after selecting the dialogue entry node in question.
The value of listenerportrait has nothing to do with the response menu. The response menu panel's StandardUIMenuPanel > PC Image is a separate image, unrelated to speakerportrait or listenerportrait.

Screenshots appear to be too heavy, but I did as told and player is selected as actor in the first one and as conversant where he is supposed to be the listener

All working now?

If not, please post screenshots. Use the Attachments tab below. Tip: Don't take a photo with your mobile phone. That will product large, high resolution images. Take a real screenshot by pressing the PrtSc button if you're on Windows or Shift+Cmd+3 on Mac.
