rpg kit dialog window too low

I'm using 1.6.1.1 I just noticed the default converser window is too low.

That's too low. Something might have changed in your version of the Loading scene. In any event, in the next release I'll make Dialogue Manager > Canvas > Dialogue UI > Dialogue Panel automatically size itself to the current resolution so it always fits nicely within the screen. You can do this in your copy sooner if you'd like.

There's an updated RPG Kit Support package on the Dialogue System Extras page. I made the Dialogue System windows draggable like the other RPG Kit windows, and adjust their bounds according to the screen resolution.

It only drags up to the 'give me gold' entry, should I check 'canvas scaler'?

I checked it, it goes up to fit in the game window fully now, but not any higher (IF) you have the game window fully maximized.

I was on the fence about enabling Canvas Scaler. I didn't like the scaling artifacts that it produced.

I don't understand what you mean by this:

I haven't built the game yet, but in editor, I can't have the windows taskbar at the bottom or the last line of dialog won't show up,
and I can't drag it any higher than what the screenshot shows.

What's different between your UI and the one from the latest support package on the Dialogue System Extras page? In that version, I can drag the window anywhere on the screen. If we can identify what's different, we can address it.

as far as I can tell, they're the same in the scene and the project, one on left is in the Main Level, other's in project folder

The Dialogue Manager in the Loading scene will override the one in the Main Level. Make sure the one in the Loading scene is also up to date.
