Articy Draft Import
Articy Draft Import
Is there a way to export the DSFU database in a format that Articy Draft can import? It didn't seem to like the files DSFU exported to. Do I just need to convert a csv to an xlsx?
Re: Articy Draft Import
Hi,
articy:draft doesn't have any import options that can import an entire articy project (e.g., a DS dialogue database into an articy project).

Re: Articy Draft Import
Dang, so basically, it's a one way road? Articy > DSFU, but never the other way?
Re: Articy Draft Import
I'm afraid so. I've discussed this with Nevigo in the past and, unless things have changed, they plan to add a way to import XML back into articy:draft in the major revamp that they're working on.

Okay, thank you for the info
Re: Articy Draft Import
So more on the export side of things: Am I understanding correctly that you can't merge changes in DSFU with new changes in Articy? As in, in order to use Articy you can only ever edit anything in Articy from then on?
Another way of asking is - if I export dialogue from Articy into DSFU, then make edits to it in Unity - those will be deleted if I want to export another update from Articy?
Or is there a way to merge in changes from Articy that doesn't require a brand new database that I'm not seeing yet?
Thanks

Re: Articy Draft Import
Hi,
Edit in articy. Technically you can import articy into a new database and then merge that database into your main database using the Dialogue Editor's Merge Database feature. But in practical terms it could get pretty messy trying to keep track of which parts of your articy project contain the latest content versus which parts of your dialogue database contain the latest. It's more reliable to have just one authoritative source (i.e., articy).

Okay, great! Just wanted to be sure of best practices before I go trying something crazy. Thanks!
