[Bug?] Search & Replace null ref exception
Posted: Mon Jan 11, 2021 7:05 am
Hello Tony,
I'm having an issue with the Global Search & Replace feature.
Given this scenario...:
...it works alright if I just do a search:
But if I do a search & replace, it doesn't find the string...:
...and I get this error:
I've attached the error log in full, as a jpg file, because the forum doesn't seem to allow uploading non-picture files. (Edit: it didn't upload the file; maybe you should reconfigure the forum to allow txt files?)
Anyway, if I restart Unity, I can search and replace at first, before it stops working at some point.
Also, and this seems important, it happened when using both "special" characters like <, > and _
If I avoid them, I don't get an error.
Other things to consider (probably):
- I use forward slashes to categorize conversations.
- This also happens pointing to a specific conversation.
I don't know if this is a supposed to be a limitation, but it's weird that it works for a while, after restarting Unity.
Thanks!
