Organizing and calling conversations in folders

Post by angelmcc »

Hi, Tony, et. al.

I have organized some of my conversations into folders, but I'm having trouble getting them to play.

When I call them, I use the format: "Pools/PoolKeys"
"Foldername/Conversation"

Is that not correct?

Thanks so much!

Hi Angel,

That should be fine. What's going on? Are there any errors or warnings in the Console window?

Make sure your Dialogue Manager's Initial Database field points to the correct dialogue database. Then double-check that the Dialogue System Trigger's Actions > Start Conversation > Conversation dropdown is set to the correct conversation title (e.g., "Pools/PoolKeys").

Hi, Tony,
Thanks so much for the quick response. You're always such a great supporter for our development. :) I hope you are having a fantastic holiday.

The dialogue simply isn't playing. I'll double-check those things you mention. We'll figure it out!

Best wishes, :)

Hi Angel,

Temporarily set the Dialogue Manager's Other Settings > Debug Level to Info. Play the scene in the Unity editor's play mode. When the conversation tries to start, check the activity in the Console window. It may give you a clue as to what's going on. Make sure the Console window isn't filtering out info, warning, or errors.
