Text Dialogue as pop up speech bubbles

Hi!
I was wondering if someone could help, I am able to configure the dialogue UI to work. (little steps little steps, im a newbie!)
I am currently making a top down game and I would like to have dialogue appear as speech bubbles above a character/npc when they are talking. Atm I have the standard NPC dialogue at the top of the screen and the Player dialogue at the bottom.
I have the Bark UI template set in the Dialouge UI prefab slot in the Dialogue System Controller
and ive got Dialogue Actor Components on the NPC and the Player and ive set the Bark UI prefab in the BarkUI slot on the Dialogue actor and the Subtitle panel is set to "Use Bark UI"
however when I press play I get error messages No Dialogue UI found on the Bark UI template.
Do i need to add some components to the Bark UI template?
Or is using the Bark UI the wrong way to go about what i want to achieve?
Any help/guidance is much appreciated
