Updated Dialogue UI Scripts - Dialogue System Users Please Help Test

Post by Tony Li »

Dialogue System users -

The link below is for an update to the Dialogue System's Unity UI support:

DialogueSystem_UnityUI_2018-01-07.unitypackage

If any of you would do me the favor of testing it out with your projects (make a backup first), I'd really appreciate it.

It fixes some bugs, including a bug introduced in version 1.7.7.1, and replaces the "Always Visible" checkbox in the NPC & PC subtitle sections with a more versatile dropdown:
  • Only During Content: (Default) Like previous versions, subtitle only stays visible while showing content.
  • Until Superceded: Subtitle stays visible until another subtitle plays (NPC or PC).
  • Always Once Shown: Subtitle stays visible after first showing content, unless replaced by new content.
  • Always From Start: Shows NPC & PC subtitle panels as soon as conversation starts, with portrait names & images.
I think it's a big improvement from previous versions, and it passes all of my test cases, but I'd like to know that it really works well out in the field. Thanks!

One question. Could it be installed from 1.7.6 to get a 1.7.6+patch version? Or it needs to be installed from 1.7.7.1...?

Yes. I just tested it, and all appears to be fine with importing this UI update on top of 1.7.6.
