Hi Alex,

Check all of the subtitle panels in your dialogue UI. Is the Portrait Name field assigned in all of them?

I only have one so yes

Does the included example work correctly? The actors' names are Player, Girl, and Boy.

Are there any errors or warnings in the Console window?

While playing, when "(Name)" appears, pause the game and check the dialogue UI. Is there perhaps a second UI Text object in the same position that's covering up the name with "(Name)"?

Great! The UI prefab must have gotten accidentally changed in your project or something. Glad it's working now.
