Hi,

You do not need to do anything with the Quest Machine GameObject to set up player-NPC interaction. You can drop the original, unmodified Quest Machine prefab into your scene and leave it unchanged. (After you get player-NPC interaction working, you can customize it and assign your own quest database.)

The only two GameObject you'll need to look at are the player and NPC. The only steps you need to do are the two steps in my previous reply.

Please feel free to send a reproduction project to tony (at) pixelcrushers.com if you're stuck.

Well thanks for trying, I'm still nowhere with making this work after spending my weekend on it. The tutorials don't reflect the current version changes of Quest Machine, setting up a quest process was much different due to the new Quest Machine interface, and the quest didn't work even after following the create a quest tutorial.

I'm really staggered as I've spent the best part of 20 hours using your YouTube videos and coming here for support. Something is certainly not right and I'm following the process as closely as possible to the detail when selecting and ticking boxes. I've made 2 new projects in an isometric view and something really is not clicking when it comes to it working when I have manually set up Quest Machine with the prefab.

Hi,

What do you see that's different in the tutorials? I just went through the first 3 tutorials, and everything in the tutorial videos are exactly like they are in the current version of Quest Machine (version 1.2.25.1 as of this post).

Are you sure you're using Quest Machine? Do you perhaps have two different quest system assets in your project?
