Hi,
The evaluation version is precompiled. Since not every project is guaranteed to have TextMesh Pro, it's not precompiled with TextMesh Pro support.
I hope you can get a sufficient idea of how the Dialogue System works other than TextMesh Pro. If you buy it and you'd like a refund for some reason, just let me know.

Just to be clear, If I want to use TMP with Dialogue System 2.0 do I have to install the extra package?

No. In fact, do
not use the package in Third Party Support. That's only for users coming from version 1.x who were already using the Third Party Support package before the Dialogue System had built-in TextMesh Pro support.
Instead, use
these setup instructions.

Thanks, at least I now know that the reason for TextMesh Pro not working is because it's not precompiled with it. It was kindda driving me insane on why it's not working
. I will just practice with the evaluation version and buy it by the time I master using the asset
