Arcweave - NPC conversation
Arcweave - NPC conversation
Hi! HUGE thank you for the Arcweave import!
I'm trying to import a conversation between two NPCs, however, and "Speaker:actorname" doesn't seem to be acknowledged on import? Am I missing something?
It can see the Element title - (It never swaps the actor/conversants as you can see here) And it's importing the actors -

Hi,
Is that definitely on an Element node, and not some other type of node?
Can you share a screen of the node in Arcweave or email it to tony (at) pixelcrushers.com?

Re: Arcweave - NPC conversation
Here's the board. I might have dragged the elements from the component list rather than creating empty elements. Would that have made a difference?
All the other logic is working fine, and the convo is all there, just not changing actor/conversant.

Re: Arcweave - NPC conversation
Here it is in DS if that helps.
You can see that it swaps once just as the first line hits.

Thank you for the clear details. I'll investigate and try to have a solution for you by tomorrow.

Absolutely no rush. ^_^
Re: Arcweave - NPC conversation
Hi both!
I am wondering the same. Is it possible to have two NPCs and the Player have a conversation via Arcweave import? I am struggling to import it as well. Basically since in the import I can only choose two actors, it seems to only recognize those two. And if I don't select "Player" as one of the dialogue actors, I am not able to see the player choices.
Am I doing something wrong?
Let me know
Thank you so much!!

Re: Arcweave - NPC conversation
My apologies to both of you for taking so long on this. We're working with some unexpected delays.
When setting up a conversation like this in the Arcweave Import window, the first actor dropdown should be set to the Player. Choose one of the other NPC actors for the second dropdown, typically the one most involved in the conversation.
Connection text will be assigned to the Player:
In the Components section, make sure to set the dropdown to NPC for all of your NPC actors.
As long as the element's title starts with "Speaker:", it will (in an upcoming patch) correctly assign the specified actor. This is currently not working, but I'll have a fix soon.
