Can't see Portrait Images

Post by talonskave »

Hi,

I'm having an odd problem where the Portrait images are not showing during a conversation.

Some background:
I am using the TopDownEngine integration with unity 2019.2.0f1. I have followed the instructions for installing all the packages and support for the TDE.

As you can see in the image, the portrait seems to show fine in the game view, but does not show during run time in a conversation. I am using the Focus UI that comes with the DS. I haven't changed the default portrait sprite in the screenshot, but if I do change it there's no difference.
I have tried to change the Standard UI Subtitle Panel > Visibility to all available options but it did not help. I have no doubt that I'm probably missing something completely obvious here, but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Have you assigned portrait images to your actors in the Dialogue Editor?

Note that there are two places in the Inspector where you can assign images:
  • Portrait Textures is for texture images, where Texture Type is set to Default or Editor GUI and Legacy GUI.
  • Portrait Sprites is for sprite images, where Texture Type is set to Sprite (2D and UI).
The gray silhouttes are placeholder images. They disappear at runtime.

Ah that's what I'm missing! Thank you. Sorry I just bought the asset the day before yesterday, still finding my way around.

Thanks again!
